ATLANTA, Sept. 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) announced today the implementation of a new high speed networking solution for Southern Business Communications, a subsidiary of Global Imaging Systems (NASDAQ:GISX). The networking solution connects nine of Southern Business Communications' sites.
AT&T's Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network (IP VPN) solution allows all Southern Business Communications sites direct access to the Internet and to its Atlanta headquarters, which is linked to the GIS network.

"AT&T set up a simple, low-cost solution that provides us with significant gains in security, reliability and scalability." The new network uses Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) technology that provides added reliability and bandwidth. Southern Business Communications uses AT&T's MPLS-based network to support videoconference services among its locations. AT&T's MPLS solutions allow companies, which are interested in implementing videoconferencing, Voice over IP and other bandwidth-intensive applications, to prioritize and route data across the network with aggressive service-level agreements and greatly reduced latency. Such efficiency results in highly reliable and accurate communications.
