JACKSON, Miss., Oct. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- AT&T today announces the launch of High Definition (HD) Voice in Mississippi.

With HD Voice, AT&T customers in can experience crystal clear conversations while simultaneously surfing the Web at 4G LTE speeds.

HD Voice is enabled by Voice Over LTE (VoLTE), an all-Internet Protocol (IP) network technology that also enables the ability to talk while surfing the Web on the nation's most reliable 4G LTE network.

VoLTE and HD Voice from AT&T provide:

  • Ability to Talk while Surfing the Nation's Most Reliable 4G LTE Network – AT&T customers have long been able to talk and surf the Web simultaneously, and now AT&T VoLTE customers will be able to talk while surfing at ultra-fast 4G LTE speeds. AT&T also has the nation's strongest 4G LTE signal.
  • Better overall audio quality – The use of wideband audio for HD Voice, which expands the frequency range of audio signals, enabling more natural sounding voice.
  • Noise cancellation – Customers using HD Voice will hear reduced background noise compared to standard voice calls, helping to make conversations crystal clear.

"HD Voice is one more way AT&T is building a better network for our customers, and we are excited to bring this new technology and level of service to our customers in Mississippi," said AT&T Mississippi President Mayo Flynt. "As demand for speed, connectivity and enhanced wireless services grows, the launch of HD Voice on our 4G LTE network means our customers no longer have to choose between fast data speeds and crystal clear conversations – they now get the best of both worlds."

In order to experience HD Voice, both callers will need to be in an AT&T HD Voice coverage area using an AT&T HD Voice-capable device with HD Voice set up on their AT&T account. There is no extra charge for HD Voice service.
