AOL Chief Executive Tim Armstrong said Thursday his company was in no rush to cut a search-engine deal.
Armstrong, formerly the top sales executive at Google Inc. (GOOG), made the comment in response to a question at the Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco. Google currently provides search functions for AOL's Web pages.
Armstrong was hired in April to run AOL, a one-time leader in Internet access services that merged with Time Warner Inc. (TWX) in a much-hyped deal in 2001. That deal never proved its value, and Time Warner said in May it would spin off AOL.
