future of broadband services
ADTRAN®, Inc., (NASDAQ:ADTN), a leading provider of
next-generation open networking solutions, today announced that the
Broadband Forum has named Kevin Schneider, chief scientist for
ADTRAN, as an inaugural member to its new Executive Advisory
Council. This group will play a key role in determining a new
vision for broadband services and guiding the Broadband Forum’s
20/20 initiative that aims to help service providers combine NFV,
SDN, ultra-fast access and Machine-to-Machine (M2M) capabilities
into revenue generating services.
“As the Broadband Forum launches its new 20/20 initiative for
high-value broadband services, it was clear that we needed a panel
of highly knowledgeable individuals to help guide us as we walked
down this path,” said Robin Mersh, CEO of Broadband Forum. “ADTRAN
has been a key part of our forum for many years, and we have relied
on its experience and knowledge to help create standards that are
adopted industry wide. We look forward to the experience and
knowledge Kevin will bring to the advisory board that will be
influential in determining the path that the Broadband Forum will
take in the future.”
As a part of the Executive Advisory Council, Schneider will also

direction to identify broadband industry trends and technology
solutions. In keeping with the Forum’s mission to eliminate
barriers to broadband deployment, Schneider will lend his expertise
on technical topics that are critical to shaping the future of the
broadband industry.
“ADTRAN has seen the transformative effects that SDN, NFV and
high-value broadband services have had on the broadband industry,”
said Schneider. “The Broadband Forum is one of the leading
organizations that ensures these transformative technologies assist
the entire industry as a whole. I look forward to the opportunity
to help drive the discussions on new strategies and ideas that the
Broadband Forum can utilize for the greater good of the
industry.”
