ADRs End Lower; Vodafone Declines

International stocks trading in New York closed lower on
Thursday.
Vodafone Group PLC (VOD, VOD.LN, VOD.JO) was among the companies
with ADRs that traded actively.
The BNY Mellon index of American depositary receipts fell 1.3%
to 124.94. The European index decreased 1.3% to 123.26, the Asian
index dropped 1.4% to 132.32, the Latin American index fell 1.9% to
179.51 and the emerging markets index declined 1.2% to 232.14.
Vodafone Group PLC (VOD, VOD.LN, VOD.JO) plans to add pay TV to
its New Zealand operations through a 3.44-billion-New
Zealand-dollar (US$2.44 billion) merger of its local unit with Sky
Network Television, as the world's big telecommunications companies
continue to pivot toward TV and online video. ADRs fell 2.3% to
$32.21.
GOL Linhas Aereas Inteligentes SA (GOL, GOLL4.BR) extended the
deadline for its debt-exchange offer for a third time. The
Brazilian airline is proposing that bondholders accept a steep
reduction in the face value of the bonds and an exchange of
outstanding ones--valued at $780 million--for new ones with
different maturities. ADRs rose 9.6% to $8.20.
