BOSTON (Thomson Financial) - 3M Co. Tuesday said it has agreed to acquire
EMFI S.A. and SAPO S.A., makers of polyurethane-based structural adhesives and
sealants headquartered in Haguenau, France.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
3M expects the transaction to close in the fourth quarter.
"In addition to EMFI/SAPO's polyurethane structural adhesive and sealant
platform, this acquisition brings technical know-how, and a unique manufacturing
process to 3M that will accelerate growth and allow us to deliver a broader
offering to our customers globally," 3M said.
Shares of 3M fell 2 cents to $68.71 in early trading.
