By Victoria Stilwell ShopRunner tapped former Yahoo Inc. (YHOO) executive Scott Thompson as chief executive of the shopping network as it looks to expand offerings in its payments operations. Mr. Thompson resigned from Yahoo in May after the company's board received evidence that appeared to show he knowingly claimed to have a computer-science degree that he didn't have. Mr. Thompson was a former president of eBay Inc.'s (EBAY) PayPal unit. Mr. Thompson succeeds ShopRunner's current CEO and co-founder Mike Golden, who will stay on with the company as its president. ShopRunner allows retailers to offer shopping services to members. ShopRunner's retailers include Toys "R" Us, American Eagle Outfitters, PetSmart Inc. (PETM) and GNC. In the future, ShopRunner is looking to expand its offerings in both its swath of participating merchants and its benefits to members. The company is also introducing its PayRunner service, which the company bills as a "two-click checkout experience" to make it faster and easier for members to make purchases.
