NEW YORK, Sept. 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Wunderman, the leading global digital agency, today announced that Acceleration, the premier marketing technology consultancy, has become a part of its network. The move reinforces Wunderman's ability to deliver data and technology consulting and extends its offer into end-to-end digital transformation services.

Acceleration, which joined WPP in 2012, helps its clients to develop ground-breaking digital strategies and to design and implement the supporting data and technology infrastructure behind them. The combined offer will allow Wunderman to provide its clients with seamless digital transformation that starts with strategy development and runs through to the creation of campaigns and experiences that drive concrete business results. The two companies have worked closely on a number of client assignments around the world.

Jacques Van Niekerk and Stephan Pretorius, the founders of Acceleration, will be taking on new roles within Wunderman. Jacques will become CEO of Wunderman Data, the division of Wunderman that offers data management, data services and analytics.  He brings more than 20 years of experience building media, technology and data related businesses around the world and will focus on developing Wunderman Data's offer globally.

Stephan Pretorius will become Chief Technology Officer of Wunderman and will leverage his experience working with technology companies to advise clients on technology solutions as well as working with Wunderman's own technology partners including Adobe, Marketo, Google, Microsoft and Salesforce, among others.

Acceleration will be joining Wunderman Data and will continue to operate as a standalone brand and agnostic advisor to its clients.  Grant Keller, currently Acceleration's North America CEO, will be stepping up to become its new global CEO.

Mark Read, Wunderman's Global CEO, said, "It's increasingly clear that digital disruption is the top issue on many clients' agendas and that they need help working out how to build a technology strategy to support their business.  Our work with Acceleration in the past few years has demonstrated the value that clients can gain from combining Acceleration's consulting expertise and approach with Wunderman's insights, analytics and creative capabilities."

Jacques van Niekerk commented, "This unique partnership will enable Wunderman and Acceleration, together, to deliver a powerful solution across the full spectrum of data, technology and marketing services and help our clients to transform their businesses to maximize the opportunities provided by the digital revolution."

Stephan Pretorius added, "We are enormously excited to be joining forces with Wunderman to realize our joint vision of how technology can enable the connection between creativity and data."
