LONDON--WPP PLC (WPP.LN) said on Wednesday it has invested in All Def Digital Inc., a digital media company founded by hip-hop impresario Russell Simmons in the U.S.

The provider of communications services said the investment has been made through WPP Ventures, a division based in Silicon Valley, which explores investments in new technology companies.

All Def Digital's clients include NBC Universal and Samsung, the company said.

The company didn't disclose the amount of the investment.

Shares at 1400 GMT up 6 pence, or 0.4%, at 1528 pence valuing the company at 19.65 billion pounds ($28.7 billion).
