LONDON--Advertising agency WPP PLC (WPP.LN) said Tuesday its
German-based marketing services network, Commarco GmbH, has bought
a majority interest in Nicole Weber Communications GmbH, a German
full service public relations agency for an undisclosed sum.
NWC focuses on lifestyle industries including fashion and
beauty, consumer electronics and automotive. NWC's unaudited
revenue for the year ended Dec. 31, 2014 was 2.4 million euros
($2.7 million), with gross assets at the same date of EUR1.1
million.
This investment continues WPP's strategy of developing its
services in fast-growing and important markets and sectors.
Collectively, WPP companies in Germany generate revenues of $1.4
billion. On this basis, Germany is WPP's fourth largest market,
after the U.S., the U.K. and China, it said.
Shares at 0805 GMT unchanged at 1429 pence valuing the company
at 18.51 billion pounds ($29.19 billion).
