Item 8.01 Other Events.
 
On May 17, 2016, BBCN Bancorp, Inc. (“BBCN”) issued a joint press release with Wilshire Bancorp, Inc. (“Wilshire”) announcing the receipt of all regulatory approvals for closing of the merger of equals between BBCN and Wilshire and the merger between their respective bank subsidiaries. A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
