SUNNYVALE, Calif., Nov. 4, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) announced today that Koskitukki Oy, a major Finnish wood procurement company, will implement Trimble's LogForce™ forestry transportation planning software. LogForce is a mobile Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) that provides logging and transportation contractors and forest companies with the ability to efficiently plan and manage transport within the raw materials supply chain.

LogForce is a key component of Trimble's Connected Forest solutions, which manage the full raw materials lifecycle of planning, planting, growing, harvesting and transport.

"We want to collaboratively work with wood transportation and other forest companies to streamline transport and load management processes. Standardized software services offer a solid base for increasing productivity in wood transportation. This benefits both forest industry and transport companies," said Jussi Joensuu, forest manager at Koskitukki.

"Using LogForce is an ideal solution for both Koskitukki and its transportation contractors to improve operations by streamlining the transport of timber," said Ken Moen, general manager for Trimble's Forestry Division. "Koskitukki will have real-time visibility into their fibre inventory and delivery supply chain while the transport companies can offer their services to several forestry companies by creating backhaul opportunities and reducing empty travel miles using just one information system."

The LogForce mobile service is currently used by more than 350 Finnish timber transportation companies.
