Company to Provide One Million Thank You Cards
for Customers to Honor Teachers;
Donates More Than $425,000 in 3D Printers to

To celebrate teachers and all they do, Staples, Inc. (NASDAQ:
SPLS) is giving customers the opportunity to thank a teacher that
has made a difference in their lives by providing one million free
thank you cards in Staples’ stores across the country or
Staples.com/giftcards during Teacher Appreciation Week, May
2-6.

you cards to teachers who have made a difference in their lives,”

Free Thank You Cards to Send
TeachersAvailable now through May 7, customers can visit
their local Staples store or Staples.com/giftcards for their free
thank you card designed by Staples Print and Marketing Services.
Every teacher who is thanked virtually on social media using the
hashtag, #thanksamillion, will also have a chance to win one of 75
Erin Condren teacher planners.
Staples Makes More than $425,000 3D
Printer DonationAs part of Teacher’s Appreciation Week,
Staples Business Advantage, the business-to-business division of
Staples, will celebrate innovation in classrooms and donate more
than $425,000 worth of MakerBot 3D printers and accessories to
select schools and universities across the United States. The
donations will include Replicator and Replicator Mini 3D printers,
3D digital scanners, and 3D filaments in various colors. Staples
Business Advantage will work closely with the schools to integrate
these printers into the STEM (science, technology, engineering and
mathematics) curriculum to provide students access to 3D printing
technologies.
“These printers offer students and teachers an opportunity to
turn their creative ideas into a reality by applying thought design
and engineering skills to a hands-on learning experience,” said
Marty Robertson, vice president, technology solutions, Staples
Business Advantage. “This donation seeks to foster knowledge of 3D
printing, which is a rapidly developing segment of design and
manufacturing.”
In addition, as part of the Staples 3D printer donation,
MakerBot will provide a range of resources to help educators
integrate 3D printing in the classroom including the MakerBot in
the Classroom handbook with ideas and activities to get started
with 3D printing.
A few of the schools and universities receiving the printers
include: Alliance College-Ready Public Schools in Los Angeles,
California, Wayne County Schools in Goldsboro, North Carolina, and
Dallas Independent School District in Dallas, Texas.
