Teacher Appreciation Contest winners to help
build school
TORONTO, April 13, 2015 /CNW/ - Staples Canada is
making a commitment to education in Ecuador by donating $10,000 to help fund a school through
international charity and partner, Free The Children.
Staples is also sending five
teachers, selected as winners in the Staples Me to We Teacher
Appreciation Contest, to Ecuador
where they will help build the Staples-funded school.

value of education in communities across Canada and around the world," said Pete Gibel,
senior vice president of merchandising at Staples Canada. "There is a large need for new
and safe school structures in Ecuador, and we're humbled to help make
education more accessible."
The Staples Me to We Teacher Appreciation Contest ran from
September 27, 2014 – November 27, 2014 and sought to celebrate
teachers who created positive social change in their school or
community. The winners are:

Winners will depart for Ecuador
on August 1 on a nine-day Me to We
Volunteer Trip. Participants will work alongside local
community members to build a Staples-funded school.

2014 by offering an assortment of exclusive products and school
supplies that make life-changing impacts in communities
overseas—from providing access to education to clean water.

provide:
- 35,932 healthy meals to children
- 16,290 tree plantings
- 15,187 people with access to clean water
- 6,524 people with access to health care
