-- Stein Mart is debuting its latest chain-wide charitable
program, "Give a Bear," in an effort to provide less fortunate
children a special gift during the holiday season. Stein Mart
stores nationwide will have stuffed toy bears available for
purchase from Oct. 12 through
18.*
"Giving back to the community is a priority within the Stein
Mart culture, and when our efforts can support local children
during the holiday season, it is the greatest gift of all," Stein
Mart's Chairman of the Board and CEO Jay
Stein said.
All contributions will be donated to children in stores' local
communities across the country, and bears can be purchased in store
for $8.98, while supplies last.
Customers who purchase bears will also receive a coupon for 25
percent off one sale item.
Nationwide efforts will support Toys for Tots*, a not-for-profit
organization that has supplemented local collections with 112
million toys valued at more than $850
million within 759 communities across 50 states and
District of Columbia since
1991.
Throughout the year Stein Mart contributes to dozens of
philanthropic efforts to enrich and improve the lives of women,
men, veterans and more. This new program is especially meaningful
as it supports children and their families during the holiday
season allowing shoppers to "give a bear, show you care."
*Note: Jacksonville-area
shoppers' donations will support Dreams Come True, a local-based
not-for-profit organization dedicated to granting dreams for
children with life-threatening illnesses. Since its establishment
in 1984, the organization has granted more than 3,000 dreams to
children in Northeast Florida and
Southeast Georgia.
