Sears Holdings Corp. said Friday it is "actively reviewing" its computer systems amid reports of hacking in the retail industry but so far has found no evidence of a breach.

The short statement followed a Bloomberg News report that the U.S. Secret Service was looking into a possible security breach at the retailer. The report cited a person familiar with the matter. The Secret Service didn't immediately reply to a request for comment.

"We are actively reviewing our systems to determine if we have been a victim of a breach," Sears spokesman Howard Riefs said. "We have found no information based on our review of our systems to date indicating a breach."

The retail industry is on edge following a spate of attacks on cash register systems last year, including major breaches at Target Corp. and Neiman Marcus Group.
