PORTLAND, Ore., July 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Rentrak (NASDAQ: RENT), the leader in precisely measuring movies and TV everywhere, today announced the top weekly cross-platform entertainment rankings for July 15, 2015.

Universal's adorable and profitable "Minions" took over the Earth this weekend topping the worldwide box office chart with $239.5 million in 57 total territories for a whopping $395.7 million to date.

In North American box office action, Universal's "Minions" may be small in stature, but leave a massive box office footprint with the second biggest animated debut of all time with $115.7 million. Great marketing, a perfect release date and multiple high profile product tie-ins made this a guaranteed hit and perhaps one of the most perfectly realized movie spin-offs ever.

On this week's Movies on Demand chart, Warner Bros.' R-rated prison comedy "Get Hard" starring Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart leads the charge (and is also number one on our DVD and Blu-ray Disc sales chart), followed by Sean Penn in Universal's action drama "The Gunman" and Liam Neeson in Warner Bros.' action thriller "Run All Night."

On our digital purchases and rentals chart, 20th Century Fox's, "Kingsman: The Secret Service," now in its seventh week of release enjoys its view from the top while sitting at the number one position. Fox's animated family-friendly comedy "Home" about a lovable misfit from another planet debuted strong on the charts in its first week of release by landing in the number two spot. Fox's comedy "Unfinished Business" starring Vince Vaughn continues to bring in business in its fifth week of release moving up the charts to the third position.

At the top of our DVD and Blu-ray Disc sales chart in its first week of release is Warner Bros.' "Get Hard" starring Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart. Meanwhile, Fox's action favorite "Kingsman: The Secret Service" drops to second place in its fourth week in release and is followed by the debut of Lionsgate's action adventure "Last Knights" starring Morgan Freeman and Clive Owen. This week on the DVD and Blu-ray Disc sales side of the ledger, Warner Bros.' caper crime comedy "Focus" starring Will Smith and Margot Robbie continues to be an audience favorite in its fifth week in release on the small screen followed by "American Sniper" and "Jupiter Ascending."

Telemundo's "El Senor de los Cielos" remains perched atop our viewer engagement for broadcast telecasts chart, followed by Telemundo's "Caso cerrado – Edicion especial" and Univision's "Que te perdone Dios… yo no."

Our top viewer engagement for cable telecasts chart has a newcomer in the top spot with Hallmark's "A Country Wedding" leading the way this week with BET's "BET Awards 2015" taking second followed by VH1's ever-popular "Love and Hip Hop Atlanta."

Finally, on our combined social media and digital engagement chart for viewers of broadcast and cable telecasts, Arielle Baril, an 11-year-old opera singer, led the way for NBC's "America's Got Talent" with a video generating 1.5M+ views on YouTube. Next up is ESPN's SportsCenter, which posted a throwback Instagram picture from the 1992 NBA Draft that garnered 122k+ interactions. Comedy Central's "Key & Peele" shared a Comedy Central post on gay marriage legalization earning a strong 31k+ interactions from sharing this post.
