Matrix Medical Network® (Matrix), the leading provider of in-home assessments and care management, will present a special information session about influencing health outcomes for the dual eligible population through member engagement at the 10th annual RISE Nashville Summit in Tennessee.

Matrix Director of Member Engagement David Goodspeed will co-present with Medical Director Mary Mailloux, MD, FACEP of Coventry Health Care of Florida and Vice President of Operations Katrina Cope of Health Choice Arizona. The session, “Engaging Your Dual Eligible Population: Member Segmentation and Outreach Strategies That Drive Results” will be held on Tuesday, March 22 at 3:15 p.m.

During the session, Mr. Goodspeed, Dr. Mailloux and Ms. Cope will discuss tools, strategies and best practices to overcome engagement obstacles and address the needs of this member population.

“Individuals dually eligible for Medicare and Medicaid are traditionally a hard-to-reach and engage population,” said Mr. Goodspeed. “It’s incumbent upon health plans and their strategic partners to empower dual eligible members with information and resources necessary to help them understand the value of the services provided by their health plans to improve care and outcomes.”

At a high-level, challenges associated with engaging dual eligible members include considerable medical, behavioral health and social service needs and minimal levels of health education and literacy. Thereby effective engagement requires a deep understanding of member motivation and behavior.

Through the use of psychographic segmentation and life-cycle based campaigns to drive relevant, member-specific messaging, Matrix has found that a cross-channel coordinated outreach strategy that involves care providers can improve member engagement and outcomes.
