Nvidia Corp. said on Wednesday that Samsung Electronics Co. filed a lawsuit earlier this month accusing Nvidia of infringing on some of the South Korean company's patents, the latest shot in the companies' battle over mobile technology.

In a complaint filed on Nov. 10 in a federal court in Virginia, Samsung alleged that Nvidia infringed upon six patents while falsely advertising that its Tegra K1 processor is the world's fastest mobile processor, according to a Nvidia's filing on Wednesday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Samsung is seeking damages, which were unspecified, as well as an injunction against Nvidia to prohibit future alleged violations, Nvidia said, adding that it has yet to respond to the complaint.

A representative for Samsung didn't respond to a request for comment.

The Samsung lawsuit comes more than two months after Nvidia filed complaints with the U.S. International Trade Commission and the U.S. District Court in Delaware against Samsung and Qualcomm Inc. over alleged infringement of patent s covering graphics chips in mobile devices.

Nvidia, likewise, didn't disclose the damages it was seeking in the September lawsuit, but it has asked the ITC to block imports of many Samsung smartphones and tablets, such as the Galaxy Note 4 and the Galaxy Tab S.

The ITC started an investigation into Nvidia's claim on Oct. 22, resulting in the Delaware court granting a motion to stay Nvidia's lawsuit against Samsung and Qualcomm, Nvidia said in its filing.
