Nuance Displaces Top-Ranked Medical Coding Vendor for Last Six Years

Nuance Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ:NUAN) today announced that it earned top vendor rankings and was named Category Leader in both Medical Coding and Quality Management Solutions in the “2014 Best in KLAS Awards: Software & Services1 report. This annual report surveyed thousands of healthcare providers on their satisfaction with health IT vendors on customer support, solution implementation, maintenance, as well as other areas.

Leaders in Coding and Quality Reporting

In this latest KLAS report, Nuance Clintegrity 360 | Facility Coding ranked first in Medical Coding, displacing a vendor that has been the category leader since 2008. Nuance bested the competition by excelling in areas such as implementation and training, and quality of support. With its clinically-focused approach, the company has been successful in not just delivering technology, but also helping clients maximize their solutions to achieve their financial and clinical goals.

Nuance also earned the category leader distinction in the Best in KLAS report with Clintegrity 360 | Quality Management Solutions, achieving the highest overall score of 88.7 against an average score of 82.4. These solutions provide a 360-degree view of how hospitals are performing against quality measures and standards with an immediate feedback loop while the patient is still in the facility, resulting in more accurate patient records and improved patient care.

Nuance joined the Coding and Quality Management Solutions market with its Clintegrity 360 | Facility Coding and Quality Management Solutions in 2011-2012, and has seen great interest and adoption in a few short years due to its unique, clinically-focused approach to documentation, which improves patient care, achieves appropriate reimbursement, and optimizes quality management reporting.

“As our clients shift from a fee-for-service to value-based care model, and strive to optimize both their clinical and financial outcomes, we are extremely gratified that they see Nuance as a clear leader in Medical Coding and Quality Management solutions,” explains Trace Devanny, president, Nuance Communications. “We partner with our clients to reimagine their end-to-end clinical documentation process, so that they can capture the right information at the point-of-care and provide the highest quality of care to their patients.”

Nuance has consistently received high ratings for its clinically-focused solutions, topping KLAS specialty reports in late 2014 for quality management and clinical documentation improvement2. For more information, visit www.nuance.com/for-healthcare.
