Crossroads Systems Inc. filed a complaint Tuesday against Cisco
Systems Inc., NetApp Inc. and Quantum Corp., alleging patent
infringement, the company said.
Crossroads, a provider of data-archive solutions, alleged that
the three companies incorporated its patented technology into their
storage systems, and said it is seeking monetary damages and
injunctive relief.
The patents cover technology that is fundamental to secure and
efficient access to network-storage systems, Crossroads said. It
filed the complaint in the federal district court in Austin,
Texas.
Representatives from Cisco, NetApp and Quantum weren't
immediately available for comment. NetApp builds systems that store
and manage clients' digital information, while Cisco supplies
routers and switching gear that funnel traffic on corporate
campuses and over the Internet. Quantum provides specialized
scale-out storage and data protection solutions for sharing,
preserving and accessing digital assets.
Shares of Crossroads rose more than 11% in after hours trading,
and were up about 21% in the past three months through Tuesday's
close.
