Virginia Tech’s Pamplin College of Business and Apex Systems
Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship will visit the Nasdaq
MarketSite in Times Square. The Pamplin College of Business
is a nationally recognized leader in business education and an
integral part of Virginia Tech – the premier research university of
the Commonwealth of Virginia. Through a refined academic
focus aimed at fostering innovation, Pamplin has enhanced its
ability to educate and develop the next generation of business
leaders and entrepreneurs.
The recent founding of the Apex Systems Center for Innovation
& Entrepreneurship highlights Pamplin’s and Virginia Tech’s
shared commitment to nurturing an entrepreneurial mind-set amongst
its students, faculty and alumni. The center strives to cultivate
an atmosphere and culture that unleashes creativity, sparks vision
and innovation, and teaches the governing principles that are the
foundation of every successful enterprise while nourishing and
sustaining the entrepreneurial spirit in students.
In honor of the occasion, Robert T. Sumichrast, Dean of
Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech will ring the
Opening Bell.

property developed at Virginia Tech and work with organizations
(business, nonprofit, and government) to advance Virginia
entrepreneurship activities, with special emphasis on the
Roanoke/Blacksburg area and the National Capital Region. Pamplin’s
new Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship will be a central
part of advancing this aspect of our vision.
The Apex Systems Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship
creates a supportive, nurturing environment for all students at
Virginia Tech who are driven to start and grow a new venture. We
inspire confidence, courage, and the drive to take the
entrepreneurial plunge. We strive to cultivate an atmosphere and
culture that unleashes creativity, sparks vision and innovation,
and teaches the governing principles that are the foundation of
