Sale of JOY Jack antenna ball/ornament raises
money for youth-mentoring organization
Jack in the Box® restaurants today announced a holiday
fundraiser benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters. For just $1, plus
tax, guests may purchase a limited-edition JOY Jack antenna
ball/ornament, with net proceeds benefiting the youth-mentoring
organization. The JOY Jack antenna ball/ornament is available
beginning today, while supplies last, at participating Jack in the
Box restaurants.
The JOY Jack antenna ball/ornament, which features Jack’s
familiar round head spelling the “O” in “JOY,” is available in red
or green, and is fashioned with a braided loop on top and
pre-drilled on the bottom to allow for display on a holiday tree or
a vehicle antenna.
This is the eighth year that Jack in the Box has sold a
limited-edition promotional item benefiting Big Brothers Big
Sisters, which provides long-term mentoring services that help
children succeed in school and in life. Previous holiday
fundraisers have cumulatively netted nearly $2 million for the
youth-mentoring organization.
Funds raised from this year’s promotion will support a variety
of Big Brothers Big Sisters’ programs, including military
mentoring, which serves children from military families with
parents deployed overseas. Jack in the Box is a long-time supporter
of military families and helped launch Big Brothers Big Sisters’
Operation Bigs program in San Diego in 2004 at Camp Pendleton
Marine Corps Base. Military mentoring programs have expanded in San
Diego and across the nation since then with support from Jack in
the Box.
“The JOY Jack ornament is just one example of Jack in the Box’s
creative, generous efforts that have helped numerous children and
military families across the country,” said Pam Iorio, president
and CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters. “Because of initiatives like
these, affiliates are able to make more mentor matches and change
more children’s lives.”
