Alphabet Inc.'s YouTube is working on a subscription service called "Unplugged" that would provide a bundle of cable channels, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, citing people familiar with the plan.

The service may launch in 2017, Bloomberg reported.

YouTube has held talks about the plan with most major media companies but hasn't yet secured rights, the report said.
