German automaker Volkswagen AG (VOW.XE) said Friday Audi AG (NSU.XE) Chief Executive Rupert Stadler and Christian Klingler will join its management board effective Jan. 1, 2010.

The supervisory board also extended the contract of executive board member Horst Neumann, Volkswagen said in a press release.

Klingler will take over executive board responsibilities for Volkswagen operations. He has been in charge of operations for Volkswagen brand cars since August 2008.

On the Volkswagen brand car board, Arno Antlitz will replace Lothar Sanger, who is retiring, the company said.
