I need to see an actual effective (record) date which I thought was May 15th. Any shares bought after that date will LIKELY be cashed out at whatever price the stock is at when they go private. If you own on/BEFORE the record date only then are you eligible for the buy out price. I sold already this morning taking myself out of the game for this one but plan on following to see what happens. Check/keep an eye on the filings. A couple "legal firms" are supposedly working on the buy out price but I myself wouldn't hold my breath. This is just my opinion, i'm sure there are more experienced traders out there that can give a better opinion. MM's didn't waste much time taking the price up pre market this morning taking away the volatility chances for easy flipping but imo news can play on it either way. For the most part I'm just moving on. But I'll keep an eye on it.

Time to ruffle some feathers. They out number my votes but that doesn't mean we can't try and talk some sense to them. Get a CAL rolling and wait 10 years for settlement? if ever? 1.05 Vs. 1.75? Their potential is greater than that with proper financing and even a shelf registration. No reason imo to take this private and leave so many reporting a loss, imo thats just careless.

Added Carl Guse, WISCOM Project Manager for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, "Our mission is to build an interoperable communications system that will serve all public safety agencies in Wisconsin. This 80 site statewide system will provide coverage throughout the 65,000 square miles of the State of Wisconsin. IRVING, Texas, Aug. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- EF Johnson Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: EFJI - News) today introduced IP25 Freedom Tracker(TM) for its innovative IP25 portfolio of Project 25 compliant infrastructure systems. IP25 Freedom Tracker will be on display at the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials annual conference and exposition, August 16 - 19 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
"The key to full system coverage is not missing a call," said Michael Jalbert, president and chief executive officer of EF Johnson Technologies, Inc. "With existing P25 conventional radio systems, calls can be missed if a radio user roams away from the site of the channel on which they are talking. The user must manually change to another channel. Our IP Freedom Tracker solution will find the user and will automatically route the call to an available channel so the calls are not dropped. This is a feature commonly found in P25 trunked systems that would cost millions more than conventional systems. Because it is internal to the network, IP Freedom Tracker will provide exceptional versatility without adding capital expense." IP25 Freedom Tracker expands upon the Company's commitment to both trunked and conventional infrastructure systems, Jalbert added.

IRVING, Texas, Aug. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- EF Johnson Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: EFJI - News) announced today that it will highlight several new products for first responders at the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials annual conference and exposition, August 16 - 19 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

"We are introducing two innovative system solutions - Hybrid IP25(TM) and IP25 Freedom Tracker(TM) - that will provide outstanding system coverage and cost effectiveness. Hybrid IP25 is the first true hybrid Project 25 trunked and conventional network, in which first responders will be able to operate and interoperate between the conventional and trunked systems. IP25 Freedom Tracker will enable seamless roaming across radio systems without missing a call," said Michael Jalbert, president and chief executive officer of EF Johnson Technologies, Inc. "Hybrid IP25 eliminates the need for dispatchers to manually patch calls between the two systems. Our hybrid radio system is based on Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) which enables it to gracefully scale to accommodate future expansions. A hybrid system is the most cost-effective way to provide wide area coverage and innovative features such as roaming and mobility, which are normally only found on trunked systems that cost millions of dollars more. Hybrid IP25 and IP25 Freedom Tracker are our newest system offerings, and expand upon our commitment to both trunked and conventional Project 25 infrastructure systems."

Jalbert added, "We are also introducing a Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) option for our ES Series Portable and Mobile Radios. This TDMA option will provide first responders with a migration path to the next phase in interoperability."

In addition, the Company will present the "Convergence of video, voice, and data in public safety" education session on Tuesday, August 18 from 4:15 to 5:15 P.M., the speaker is David Lukeson, director of systems.

Aug 11, 2009 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- JOEF | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- EF Johnson Technologies
announced that it has received a $1 million order from a state department of corrections.

The order calls for the company to provide its Project 25 compliant two-way radios and accessories to be used by corrections officers in a state facility. This is in addition to a $.75 million order from this customer that the company announced in June.

"The customer purchased our 5100 ES Series Project 25 compliant portable radios with color housings to help them identify work groups within their department," said Michael Jalbert, president and chief executive officer of EF Johnson Technologies. "Not only does this help in fleet management, but the orange and yellow housings make the radios easy to see even at great distances. Their submersible housings comply with the military standard. Our radios deploy the second generation Enhanced (AMBE+2) P25 Vocoder, which provides crisp, clear and intelligible digital audio that is essential for first responders. This order demonstrates our systematic approach to drive presence in specific state and local markets which is core to our growth strategy. This represents the newest state corrections department to use our products."

EF Johnson Technologies reports a second-quarter profit
Sat. August 08, 2009; Posted: 03:17 AM

Aug 08, 2009 (Omaha World-Herald - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- JOEF | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating -- EF Johnson Technologies turned profitable in the second quarter, reporting net income of $1.13 million, or 4 cents a share, on revenue of $30.13 million.
The profits for the Irving, Texas, company, which has operations in Lincoln, nearly wiped out the $1.26 million first-quarter loss, making the six-month loss $130,000, less than a penny a share.

Revenue for the January-June period was $52.55 million.

With its second-quarter earnings report, the company restated results for the first and second quarters of 2008. The restatement increased second-quarter 2008 profits to $1.26 million, or 5 cents a share, on revenue of $32.57 million. The increase in profits from the restatement was a penny a share.

The restatement corrected an error in how the company recognized credits from a supplier.

CEO Michael Jalbert pointed to several positive signs in the second-quarter results, including an increase in gross margin, which is gross profit as a percentage of revenue, to 42 percent from the 34 percent of the year-earlier quarter.

The company did not give any guidance on results for the third and fourth quarters. This year's first-half break-even results compare with a $759,000 loss, or 3 cents a share, on revenue of $66.47 million in 2008's first six months.

The company makes two-way radios for military and public safety use.
