"DIVX News" Sonic to buy DivX in $323 million deal

http://www.marketwatch.com/story/sonic-to-buy-divx-in-323-million-deal-2010-06-02

http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/sonic-to-acquire-divx-95398514.html

LONDON (MarketWatch) -- Digital media company Sonic Solutions /quotes/comstock/15*!snic/quotes/nls/snic (SNIC 11.83, -0.06, -0.50%) said Wednesday that it will buy DivX Inc. /quotes/comstock/15*!divx/quotes/nls/divx (DIVX 6.95, -0.27, -3.74%) in a cash and stock deal. Sonic said it will pay $3.75 in cash and 0.514 of its own shares for every DivX share. The offer was worth $9.83 a share at Tuesday's closing price, or around $323 million in total. The price is a 41% premium to Tuesday's closing price for DivX shares. Sonic said the deal is expected to close in September and could potentially double its adjusted earnings per share in fiscal 2012.

no kidding eh kev?...

in my opinion, technology they got, business sense, might be another story,

feel real sorry for buyers in the last 30 days,

heck looks like another typical pop and drop ipo,

only now its more like in a freefall, 74 degrees straight down

Glad i didnt fall for this one

can't put my finger on it but something looks gay.

I'll be sure to alert the scam boards just in case it continues.

Recommended on one of the Sat. morning Fox Network financial shows (11-11-06). The guest's opinion was that DIVX would be up 50% in 2007.

A few other picks mentioned on 11-11-06 Fox shows:

BKC (Burger King..."doubles in 2 years").

YUM (KFC...expansion into China).

HMIN (China IPO involving a new hotel chain in China. Trapper
John said he liked it.)

NEW YORK, Sept 21 (Reuters) - Media software maker DivX Inc. on Thursday raised $145.6 million
with an initial public offering that priced above its forecast range, according to an
underwriter.

The 9.1-million-share offering, which represents about a 27 percent stake in the company,
sold for $16 per share compared with a $12 to $14 forecast.

Existing stockholders sold about 1.6 million shares while the company sold about 7.5 million shares,
according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

The offering price gives the company an initial market capitalization of about $535 million.

The company earned $5.9 million profit on revenue of $21.4 million in the first six months of 2006
after losing $675,000 on revenue of $10.6 million in the same period in 2005, the filing said.

DivX roughly doubled revenue from technology licensing between the first half of 2005 and 2006,
according to financial statements submitted to the SEC.

The company's compression-decompression software library (codec), or media file format, has been downloaded
from the company's Web site more than 50 million times in the past 12 months, the filing said.

Underwriters, led by JP Morgan, have the option to buy an additional 1.4 million shares
to cover over-allotments.

The San Diego, California-based company has applied for a Nasdaq listing under the symbol "DIVX"
