Customers and Partners Invited to Test Drive Citrix Workspace Cloud, a Cloud-based Platform That Simplifies the Design, Delivery and Management of Mobile Workspaces

Today at Citrix Synergy, the company unveiled Citrix Workspace Cloud, a new platform designed to simplify the on-demand delivery of a wide range of IT tools and services. With Citrix Workspace Cloud, Citrix is providing partners and businesses with a solution to address the increasing pressure that new devices, apps and work styles are putting on traditional infrastructure. People today want instant access to all the apps and data they use to get their jobs done, and they want to be able to get that access from any device and any location. This idea of a workspace is built on the premise that people have a place where Windows apps, web apps, mobile apps, desktops, documents and collaboration come together on whichever device or network is being used.

The Citrix Workspace Cloud creates a new control plane that merges the worlds of on-premises and cloud, allowing IT managers to create secure, mobile workspaces that include desktops, applications and data from whatever infrastructure source best meets their specific needs. Citrix Workspace Cloud is the ultimate expression of choice and personalization and is paving the way to a brighter future for IT, and for the people that consume it. As the world moves to this hybrid model, businesses have flexibility to securely deploy the apps and systems needed within the enterprise. By delivering all management via the cloud, Citrix is providing its customers and partners with the experience, flexibility and security needed to architect, design, deploy and publish easy-to-use mobile workspaces to anyone, anywhere - on any device.

This cloud-based management platform provides customers the flexibility to choose which clouds or datacenter resources fit their needs best, then select the applications, data, files and features that work best for each specific organization and each person. Partners add value by architecting and designing customized, personalized workspaces uniquely suited to meet their customers’ business requirements, combining new Citrix technologies with existing Citrix workspace environments to simplify management and gain greater value from their Citrix investment.

Citrix Workspace Cloud Test Drive

To enable partners and customers to understand the scope and value of what Citrix Workspace Cloud offers, Citrix is offering a test drive - launching at Citrix Synergy - that walks through the process of publishing a Citrix pre-designed workspace, and allow up to five people to subscribe and use those workspaces. The test drive will include examples of key services like application and desktop delivery, mobility management, data and content sharing, infrastructure management and more. Additional detail on Citrix Workspace Cloud and access to the test drive is available as of Tuesday, May 12 at noon ET on citrix.com/workspacecloud.

Jesse Lipson, Vice President and General Manager, Cloud Services, Citrix

“Citrix Workspace Cloud is the future of on-demand IT. People want access to all their apps and data, and this no longer equates to a desktop. Citrix has created the fastest and easiest way to deploy new resources, simplified infrastructure management, and provided freedom of choice in selecting the right hosting and delivery model. Today, we are excited to offer this test drive to our partners and customers so they can see how Citrix Workspace Cloud supports their business and on-demand IT strategies.”

Jim Comfort, General Manager of Cloud Services, IBM

“IBM Cloud customers and partners look to us to help simplify their IT management and improve user experience. Soon, Citrix customers using the Workspace Cloud management plane will be able to select IBM Cloud’s SoftLayer infrastructure to easily deploy or migrate their workloads to the cloud. We also plan to offer the new SoftLayer-delivered service as part of our IBM Mobility Services portfolio. With these new offerings, we’re providing customers with even more options to adopt cloud - whether hybrid or private - to transform their businesses.”

Dr. Tom Bradicich, Vice President, Server Engineering, HP

"HP and Citrix deliver a choice of mobile workspace solutions through an on-premises cloud, off-premise cloud, or hybrid approach, efficiently powered by our breakthrough HP Moonshot and HP ConvergedSystems. The new Citrix Workspace Cloud allows our customers to go further with the simplified design and deployment of a broad set of workspace services, through a single cloud management platform. Our partnership, coupled with quick and easy provisioning of multiple cloud architectures and hybrid IT models, sets us apart in the industry as a leading cloud solution provider.”

Dr. Scott Ottaway, Vice President, 451 Research

“When it comes to end-user computing, Enterprise IT is at a cross-roads with multiple challenges around device management complexity, data and application security, and requirements to deliver consumer-like, consistent experiences across any device. And IT leaders have more pressure than ever to achieve rapid time to market with new IT services, especially new mobile applications. Citrix Workspace Cloud addresses these concerns for existing and new mobile-first applications. And, as the solution is infrastructure-agnostic, it enables organizations to choose the best execution venue whether on-premises, at a cloud service provider or on a hosted private cloud, thus providing a solution for Enterprises to develop a viable near and long-term end-user computing strategy without cloud lock-in.”

Frederich Devoir, Sr. Architect, Textron Inc.

“Our global strategy is one of cloud centricity, deploying our technology with a cloud-first mentality. As we look across our many expanding workgroups, geographic locations, and Citrix farms, we clearly see how Citrix Workspace Cloud can help us bridge and unify management across these environments. As we march forward with our deployment strategy, we expect that Workspace Cloud will be the first step in that journey to provide us with a simple on-ramp to the cloud for our Citrix assets.”

Paul Kunze, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, IntraSystems Inc.

“Citrix Workspace Cloud will give us a new way to engage with and deliver unique value to our customers. We also see the new revenue opportunities through the ability to design and publish the kind of high-value, differentiated workspaces our customers are seeking, and delivering them faster and more easily than ever before.”

Ryan Gallier, Senior Architect, VC3

“As a Citrix Service Provider partner, I’m excited about the release of Citrix Workspaces Cloud and the opportunities it brings to our business. Citrix Workspace Cloud will enable us to optimize our datacenter space by offloading control plane services to the Citrix Cloud while hosting more Citrix Desktops in ours. That will help streamline our onboarding process since we won’t have to build control plane services across each of our customers.”
