Comcast’s Xfinity Brand Teams Up with NASCAR
Star for Live Twitter Autograph Session
Comcast today announced a #SignMyTweet event with NASCAR driver
Danica Patrick. In the midst of her third full-time NASCAR Sprint
Cup Series season, Patrick will sign fan tweets during a two-hour
live autograph session days before the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series
Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Fans can submit Tweets
starting Friday, May 15, for a chance to receive an oversized
version of their own Tweet, signed by Patrick. The event is hosted
by XFINITY, Comcast’s residential service brand and the
nation’s largest video and high-speed Internet provider.
“NASCAR provides fans with more access to its athletes than any
other sport, so it’s a perfect match for our award-winning
#SignMyTweet program,” said Matt Lederer, Senior Director of Sports
Brand Marketing, Comcast Cable. “Danica is not only one of the most
celebrated stars in motorsports, but also in pop culture, which
makes her a great addition to the event’s celebrity roster. We’re
excited to give NASCAR fans the opportunity to engage with
Danica.”
How it will work:
On Friday, May 15, Danica will post an official #SignMyTweet
announcement from her Twitter account, @DanicaPatrick. Any fan who
wants to be eligible for an autograph must tweet to @XFINITYRacing
using the hashtag #SignMyTweet. Selected tweets will be printed out
and signed by Patrick on Tuesday, May 19, from 2-4 p.m. EDT. The
signed tweets will then be mailed to the fans who submitted them as
a unique souvenir from the NASCAR superstar.
“The #SignMyTweet program is another great example of how
XFINITY is providing more access to NASCAR fans,” Patrick said.
“Our fans are truly the best in sports, and this will be an
exciting and unique way for me to show my appreciation to some of
them.”
Patrick, who drives the No. 10 Chevrolet SS in the NASCAR Sprint
Cup Series, has made history on her rise through the ranks of
American auto racing. The 2013 Daytona 500 Coors Light Pole Award
winner got her start in open-wheel racing, where she became the
first woman to win an IndyCar Series race, before jumping in a
stock car to join the NASCAR XFINITY Series full time in 2012.
Patrick is the most successful woman to ever drive a race car at
the most-elite level of stock car racing to-date.
This will be the fourth #SignMyTweet event for XFINITY. Previous
events featured NFL Hall-of-Famer Emmitt Smith, New York Giants
wide receiver and NFL Rookie of the Year Odell Beckham Jr. and
Telemundo star Kate del Castillo. More information can be found at
