Comcast Raises Concerns about Obama's Internet Proposal -- Market Talk
January 22 2015 - 11:07PM
Dow Jones News
2236 EST (Dow Jones) If the Federal Communications Commission
decides to follow President Barack Obama's call for stringent,
utility-style regulations on broadband providers, there is no
certainty that Comcast will go through with buying Time Warner
Cable, according to a page-one article in The Wall Street Journal.
Comcast Executive Vice President David Cohen said Comcast will have
to weigh whether any FCC order "is sufficiently bad for the
broadband business that it would cause us not to go through with
the transaction, or whether we'd go through with the transaction
and simply have to be more conservative in our investment plans."
