BEIJING -(Dow Jones)- Google Inc.'s (GOOG) share of revenue in China's online-search market fell 1.7 percentage points in the third quarter to 17.2%, continuing a slide as rival Baidu Inc.'s (BIDU) share grew, Beijing market-research firm Analysys International said Friday. Baidu's market share was 78.2% in the three months ended Sept. 30, up 2.3 percentage points from the second quarter, Analysys said. The share of third-place Sohu Inc.'s (SOHU) Sogou Inc. search engine fell 0.2 percentage point to 2.2% in the third quarter, Analysys said. The changes extend a rise for Baidu and a decline for Google in the Chinese search market since Google early last year moved its China search service to Hong Kong over concerns about government censorship and hacking. Google's market share in China peaked at 35.6% in the last three months of 2009, when Baidu had a share of 58.4%, according to Analysys. -By Owen Fletcher, Dow Jones Newswires; 8610 8400 7702; owen.fletcher@dowjones.com
