Admissions intake work distribution process and Office of Student Records quality control process earn the University its tenth and eleventh awards

University of Phoenix® today announced it has been recognized for the seventh consecutive year with two “Showcase in Excellence” Process Level awards from the Southwest Alliance for Excellence (SWAE). This year, the University received two awards that recognize its admissions intake work distribution process and the Office of Student Records quality control process. Both of these processes reside in the University’s Office of Admissions and Records and demonstrate the institution’s commitment to quality while working with student records through the student lifecycle.

“University of Phoenix is honored to once again be recognized by the Southwest Alliance for Excellence, and grateful for its organized focus on excellence and continuous improvement which is so important to higher education,” said Timothy P. Slottow, president of University of Phoenix. “This recognition speaks to the University’s continued commitment to operational excellence and our work to provide seamless, high-touch, high-tech and efficient student support aligned with a vision to be recognized as the most trusted provider of career-relevant higher education for working adults.”

The 23rd annual Performance Excellence Program recognized organizations for excellence in quality, performance and outcomes. The program, modeled after the Malcolm Baldrige Award criteria, provides an opportunity for recognition and valuable feedback about where an organization is positioned on the quality continuum. The Showcase in Excellence Award recognizes a team for one specific process that could be innovative or a cutting-edge approach, used as a role model or result in exceptional performance. It could also be a routine process performed in an extraordinary manner.

“The Southwest Alliance for Excellence proudly recognizes University of Phoenix for its continued dedication to academic and operational improvement,” said Karen Shepard, executive director of the Southwest Alliance for Excellence. “We are proud to continue empowering organizations like the University of Phoenix to pursue performance excellence and improve organizational outcomes that ultimately contribute to the economic competiveness of the communities they serve and the states where they reside.”

The goal of the program is to improve results in organizations throughout Arizona, Nevada and Utah using the Baldrige Framework for Performance Excellence.
