Twitch, the Internet channel for videogame broadcasting and watching that Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN) has agreed to acquire, on Tuesday announced plans to buy GoodGame, an agency that represents gamers and helps to connect advertisers to the videogame community.

Terms of the deal weren't disclosed.

Twitch, in a news release, praised GoodGame's ability to use "nontraditional engagement methods" to help advertisers reach "the ever-evolving digital media audience." GoodGame, meanwhile, noted its past work with Twitch and how its acquirers "genuinely care about making sure the community grows in the right way."

In August, Amazon agreed to acquire Twitch for about $970 million in cash in a deal that underscored the popularity of online gaming. While little-known outside of tech and gaming, Twitch was ranked this summer as the fourth-largest source of U.S. Internet traffic, behind only Netflix Inc., Google Inc. and Apple Inc., according to network researcher DeepField Inc.
