Intel Corp. (INTC) has ended talks to acquire Altera Corp.
(ALTR), CNBC's David Faber reported Thursday, citing people
familiar with the matter.
Intel had made an all-cash offer for Altera in the low-50s, the
report said, which was rejected.
Although they had talked for months, and a good amount of due
diligence was done on Intel's part, they were unable to agree on
price, CNBC said.
They have not spoken for the last week, the report added, and
Intel has abandoned any attempts at this point to acquire
Altera.
