By Brent Kendall Of DOW JONES NEWSWIRES WASHINGTON -(Dow Jones)- In a mixed ruling, a federal appeals court on Monday revived Apple Inc.'s (AAPL) bid to block U.S. sales of Samsung Electronics Co.'s (005930.SE, SSNHY) Galaxy Tab tablet computer, but rejected other Apple legal claims that sought to bar sales of Samsung smartphones. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit ruled a California trial judge was too quick to deny Apple's request to temporarily block the sales of Samsung tablets while Apple's patent-infringement claims against its rival proceed in court. The appeals court said the trial judge was incorrect in thinking that one Apple patent related to the iPad may be invalid. The court said the judge should consider again Apple's arguments that sales of the Samsung tablets should be blocked while the legal case proceeds. The appeals court sided with Samsung in several other portions of its 34-page ruling. It affirmed the trial judge's decision to deny other Apple requests, based on three different patents, to block U.S. sales of Samsung smartphones. The case, which centers on an April 2011 lawsuit by Apple, is one of several patent disputes being fought between the two companies around the globe. The case is Apple Inc. v.
