Definition of Price To Book Ratio

P/B ratio is used to compare a stock market value to its book value. It is calculated by dividing present price of a stock by its book value or by dividing market capitalization by total shaholder funds. Low P/B ratio might indicate that the companys stocks are undervalued or that the company experiences problems.
