Might me the next push up for Tesco also... both Soros and Buffet have been buying shares in the US - in Walmart. Gives a clue as to what these guys think will drive the global economy next year. Global consumer based companies. Tesco fits this, with the added advantage over Walmart of having a greater growth potential.

New shareholder having moved from LLOY to TSCO a couple of weeks ago. What is the general consensus on the TSCO presentation? Will this be seen as a positive move or a step too far. By the way this board is so much more civilised than LLOY's

knowsleyman, well said. unfortunately a lot of people in this country do not like to see a British success story and are happy to shop at Asda. Meanwhile they probably do not appreciate the effect on UK pension funds that Tesco doing well has.

there is still a lot of Tesco good news about at the moment-- eg. The new China shopping malls and hypermarkets. I think Tesco recognises that outside of the Uk growth is still available, in the Uk everyone is scrabbling for market share.I can see some retracement of gains( profit taking) but still think there is overall higher to go.

A Manchester City Councillor is complaining about another 2 Tesco stores opening in the city. He states that there will be 64 within a 12 mile radius of the city centre. Sounds pretty good for business to me!!!!!!!!!! Long may it continue and drive that American outfit into the floor.

thanks for the encouragement - yes the short looking very bad now - and was only for fun - should add to it but feeling apathetic so think i'll just wait and hope you guys are right about overbought - it can't keep going up forever can it.
