- think even fund managers are seeing this market as topping out - can't see much more buying of retail stock without strong xmas data....though nov/dec figures fairly meaningless these days as it's now all about the jan sales; perverse as ever the markets will look for positives in negatives.

- No worries buddy. I've made a few cok-ups with warrants, so glad to help someone avoid losing money. From my experience, it doesn't pay to hold the warrants too long. You can get the direction right and still lose money due to the time value decay. Regards

- If you have done your homework ... take a small position. I've done that on some derivatives that I did not fully understand ... ie all the associated costs, and once you have parted with your cash it concentrates the mind.

- Mikey/PeterBill thanks for your comments. Actually the price to buy the warrants is 28.5p today, and the dealing costs are minimal on both trades (at least at the size I am dealing). PeterBill, I agree ... a bit disappointing ... I was hoping to see Next top £20 today as an even better bet (sorry, investment)!

- Tourist, What about the dealing costs and spread? I found the spread on SG warrants quite large. Also long dated spread bets seem to have a larger spread than the daily bets. Today was the first time I noticed the FT100 index going up (+ 100 points)and the The NXT sp going down (- 10) ... quite a change from normally following the FTSE wherever it goes.

- think you're right ilostthelot. I will probably short at around 2000p as, based on current earnings that would mean a p/e of coming up to 12 times which would seem high to me. Think trading range for these will sit at 1850 to 2000 unless new news comes out or a major change in markets. Cheers
