Pity the market has decided to tip up over the last few days.This probably will be the fourth day of falls with the Dow indicating a 70point fall at the open atm. The rights issue could do without that.

jp - agree that simply leaving money invested adinfinitum is not desirable but imo "the market" is still the best place to get a decent return on money and if you play it right you can make cash when its falling and rising. good luck.

jonak ........ thanks for the story , brilliant in a big position with these and it is a big call, but i am sure the price will rise over the short term, as this is a good move for lloyds and therefore us and sp. I also guess the RI will be the simplest at 1:1 £1 target dont panic ..............ERrrrrrrrrrrrrr

carla1 I suggest you do as you asked me and read it carefully - nowhere in that article does it say anything about which Friday! The record date tomorrow (a Friday) is just the date Lloyds asks its registar (Equiniti) for details of the share register. The ex date a week tomorrow (also a Friday) is the one the matters - the info I gave is 100% CORRECT.

I do not understand why all the headlines insist on suggesting Lloyds is being carved up and dismembered just like the rest - as far as I can ascertain Lloyds is the only one which remains & will remain largely intact.
