- ....well side ways it is then! :-) Telegraph yesterday....... Back in London, industrial and transport technology group Invensys, which fell more than 8pc in the broader market sell off from Tuesday to Friday last week, continued to recover, up 5.8 to 292.3p

- FT Invensys, up 2.3 per cent at 296.7p, bounced back from Thursday’s disappointing results after Merrill Lynch told clients to “buy” on weakness. “We retain our confidence in the business, given heavy restructuring and a strong inquiry backlog,” it said

- Invensys sits on net cash, now pays a dividend and, valued at £2.4bn, is a small — and therefore eminently digestible — constituent in a sector dominated by US and European giants. At 290p, or 14 times next year’s earnings, the shares are a buy says the Times.

- With valuations so low they should be thinking about leveraging the balance sheet rather than making small acquisitions that make so little difference to the bottom line, more likelihood of them being swallowed up, that's if the economies really are improving.
