- Take a look at the £/$ graph above, note the correlation even intraday today. Where do you see the dollar in six months time from now ? The answer to your question also depends on what the dividend announcement is on 1st March 2010. I can't see much north of 800p without a sharp rise in the divi and that might take a while.

- MIATA - the share gone up to 760's a few days ago, now 730's. where do you see the share price in 6months time from now ? as a holder for years (divi:) thinking to do some trading from now on :) tnks !

- 751p. The HSI closed up 390 points (1.7%) at 22,944, a sixteen month high. Abundant liquidity and expectations of yuan appreciation fuelled hopes that stocks will rise further, providing a boost to banking stocks.

- IMHO we will see HSBC hit a year high by Xmas - exceptional results fuelled by a Santa rally - Tiny Tim will be getting turkey this year! And a divi to boot! Remember them? Good coverage today on expected BARC record profits should push sector higher this week...

- Hi Miata, any thoughts on RBS/Lloyds break up? Do you think it will greatly effect HSBA SP? I have put in a buy limit order for RBS at half Fri close price, assuming the price always recovers when the market has time to re-think, any ideas? Bob F

- ...brokers are still very nervous about banks with high margin % requirements on CFDs... I don't know what you define as high, but IG want 10% margin on BARC, LLOY and RBS for the first tier (275k, 950k and 1750k respectively). For HSBC they only want 5% for holdings up to 150k. Not exactly crapping themselves.
