NXT licenses its balanced radiator technology to Australia's Akoustics

LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Sound technology producer NXT PLC said it has licensed its balanced radiator (BR) technology for in-wall, in-ceiling and commercial audio markets to Australia's Akoustiks Pty Ltd. Already licensed to develop, manufacture and market loudspeakers using NXT's SurfaceSound technology, Akoustiks will now develop products using NXT's BR technology, which delivers even sound dispersion across all frequencies from a single drive unit, the company said. Brian Hammett, Akoustiks founder and chairman, said: "We are delighted to be the exclusive licensee for this technology in these sectors and are well advanced in our development of a range of products we will be fast tracking to market in 2008."
