BP Hoping For Early May End To Cherry Point Maintenance -Source

BP PLC (BP) should finish maintenance work at its Cherry Point refinery in Ferndale, Wash., by the end of April or early May, a source familiar with the refinery said Tuesday. BP started planned spring maintenance at the 230,000 barrel-a-day refinery earlier than originally planned after it idled the plant in the wake of a mid-February fire at its crude distillation unit. The Cherry Point refinery provides about 20% of the gasoline used in Washington and Oregon and the majority of jet fuel for Seattle, Portland and Vancouver, B.C. international airports, according to BP's website. -Ben Lefebvre, Dow Jones Newswires; 713-547-9201; ben.lefebvre@dowjones.com
