Just need some advice, should I sell now at 196.85 or wait for the cash offer of £2. Does anyone know how long it would take for the cash offer to conclude ?

@davidosh
sorry to hear that. I know how you feel, same happened to me on Norkom. For EDD, I was thinking of reducing last week, but luckily I never got round to it.

I remember, you stuck with them for years.

I have very fond memories of EDD buying at 24.5p in 2007 until selling in January 2010. They got me through the 2008 downturn by themselves.

Bad luck davidosh, but well done to holders. I never did get back into EDD but was tempted a few times. A good buy for Pearson imo.

Totally gutted !! I sold my long term holding last week to move across to another company as I feared it was going to drift back down again. I should ignore chart movements LOL Certainly no leak here if last week was anything to go by.

Bought these at 95p a few months ago, so 200p is very welcome.

Well done EDD.

But it is not affecting their core business and I am seeing evidence on the ground that EDI is well placed to deliver the products that local providers need and candidates want.

A bit from the results:

" Prospects

Over recent weeks the Coalition Government's policy and funding intentions for vocational education and training programmes have become clearer. This follows the publication of the Comprehensive Spending Review, individual departmental plans and, most recently, the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills Strategy for Skills and the related investment plans.

Whilst the thrust of the thinking set out in these documents is broadly positive for our areas of interest, we are still awaiting the detail that will be provided by forthcoming legislation and new administrative arrangements for contracting and funding which will become effective during the Summer of 2011. Because of this, we are entering a transitional period as our customers in training organisations and further education colleges adapt to the new policy and funding frameworks.

Inevitably, these changes are generating short-term uncertainties but they do also present significant opportunities. New approaches will be required to the design and delivery of vocational education and training services to provide efficient and cost effective alternatives to more traditional approaches. "
