(RTTNews) - The Japanese yen edged higher against its major rivals on Wednesday morning in Asia.

As of 8:05 pm ET, the yen advanced to 87.39 against the Swiss franc, 146.32 against the pound, 130.62 versus the euro and 91.6 against the US dollar.

The yen closed Tuesday's North American deals at 87.58 against the franc, 146.67 versus the pound, 91.84 against the greenback and 130.87 per euro.
