European Economics Preview: Eurozone Inflation Data Due

(RTTNews) - Flash inflation from euro area and retail sales from Germany are the major reports due on Monday.

At 2.00 am ET, Destatis is slated to release German retail sales data for July. Sales are forecast to grow 1.2 percent month-on-month after falling 2.3 percent in June.

At 3.00 am ET, Swiss KOF is scheduled to publish leading indicator for August. The index is seen at 100.7 in August compared to 99.8 in July. In the meantime, producer prices from Hungary and foreign trade data from Turkey are due.

At 4.00 am ET, Italy's retail sales figures for June are due. Sales were down 0.1 percent month-on-month in May.

Eurostat releases flash euro area inflation data at 5.00 am ET. Inflation is seen falling to 0.1 percent in August from 0.2 percent in July.

Also, preliminary consumer prices are due from Italy. In July, inflation remained unchanged at 0.2 percent.
