Dollar Rises Vs Most Majors Ahead Of U.S. Weekly Jobless Claims

(RTTNews) - The U.S. weekly jobless claims for the week ended July 26 is due at 8:30 am ET Thursday. Economists expect an increase of 300,000 claims, compared to 284,000 in the previous week.

Ahead of the data, the greenback showed mixed trading against the other major currencies. While the greenback held steady against the pound, it advanced against the rest of major currencies.

The greenback was worth 0.9096 against the franc, 102.88 against the yen, 1.3378 against the euro and 1.6877 against the pound as of 8:25 am ET.
