Australian Dollar Rises Against Majors

(RTTNews) - The Australian dollar strengthened against the other major currencies in the Asian session on Thursday.

The Australian dollar rose to a 3-day high of 76.68 against the yen, from yesterday's closing value of 76.46.

Against the U.S. dollar, the euro and the Canadian dollar, the aussie advanced to 0.7632, 1.4765 and 0.9863 from yesterday's closing quotes of 0.7612, 1.4792 and 0.9839, respectively.

Against the NZ dollar, the aussie edged up to 1.0416 from an early 1-1/2-month low of 1.0393.

If the aussie extends its uptrend, it is likely to find resistance around 79.00 against the yen, 0.77 against the greenback, 1.45 against the euro, 1.00 against the loonie and 1.06 against the kiwi.
