CAC 40

The French stock market index is called Cotation Assistée en Continu, also CAC 40. The 40 most significant values among the highest 100 market caps on the Paris Bourse are used to comprise the CAC 40. This free float weighted index is composed of French companies, although 45% of the shares are owned by foreign investors. This is because the CAC 40 companies are the most international than any other European market.
