The spread is ridiculous however recent price action is wonderful.

I have a decent holding but want the best for my investments and certainly not to be taken over at a low price compared to what I think can be achieved.

Low prices attract bids and we have seen lots recently in the market

I think two or three smaller company institutional investors or family wealth funds would be the best buyers. We are small but the growth is there to be seen.

David, I agree with you. You are obviously not talking the price down, so I guess you are not buying? Enough already? I would buy more but shares usually come back after results. I would like to see the Directors, Pendlebury and Dye, buy the shares from the Douie family.

With a £200m order book and able to fund their own growth there is no reason why earnings cannot grow substantially from here. However with the late chairman's holding of 19% potentially available I do wonder whether a predator will see that as an opportunity to take those gains earlier.

I have been a shareholder for 14 years and in here for the long term. I think eps of 15p is possible this year and the company will then be on a much better growth rating and double this share price. I am clearly biased but that is very possible.

AIM shares are bad enough; no following and bargain price. This share is under £15m so I doubt if it is even followed by the IHT mitigation funds. If the market cap was just a bit higher at £50m there would be huge interest.

The price does not usually move up with sellers about though. Results are in two weeks so that will give a better view of where the company is heading. I would also like to hear what is happening about additions to the board.

Those were all buys today so it looks like the price will be on the move back up again

Personally I do not want a bid to come in until the company is valued sensibly.

I am happy to see the company continue rebuilding so well following the lull during the pandemic. I fully expect the second half to be slightly better than the first as it usually is. That should mean 11 to 12p of earnings per share and at least 3p in dividends. A sensible multiple is about 8x for a recruiter especially with the asset backing and so I think we will see 88p to 96p by the time of the full year results.

If forecasts are then for a stronger 2024 there is no reason why this share price cannot at least double by this time next year. On that basis a bid at probably a measly 30% premium, where many are pitched in these tough markets, simply does not work for me and the higher the share price goes then the harder it will be to steal it.

A good time to be a shareholder.

Very sad news...

31 July 2023

RTC Group Plc

("RTC", "the Company" or "the Group")

Sudden death of Chairman

It is with great sadness that, RTC Group Plc (AIM: RTC.L), the engineering and technical recruitment Group, announces that its founder and chairman, Bill Douie, has died suddenly.

Further announcements will be made as required.

Andy Pendlebury, chief executive, said:

"It is with a very heavy heart that I am announcing the sudden death of Bill Douie, chairman of RTC Group Plc

Bill joined with Clive Chapman in 1992 to purchase an ailing ATA Selection business which subsequently became the RTC Group of today and Bill remained executive chairman until his sudden death.

Bill and I worked together on the Board of RTC Group for the last 16 years. Bill was a highly intellectual man with a passion for business and an immense knowledge of both global and domestic affairs.

His insights, support, and guidance have been invaluable to me as chief executive. His sense of humour and warmth as an individual have proved invaluable to me on a personal level.

Bill has been a pleasure to work with he will be sorely missed."
